Sock blockers

I don't own any 'proper' sock blockers since I usually block my socks by wearing them. But now the Baudelaires are finished (*phew!*) I think it's probably only polite to block them before I send them to my sockpal. And DEFINITELY polite to use something other than my feet!

Anyone got any suggestions for household items I could use instead?

i've heard rumours that detwisting and reshaping a wire coat hanger into a big flat sideways foot shape (you know like a xmas stocking shape) works wonders...

There's a tutorial on making some homemade ones. You can find it here:

Hope that helps.

I tried the coat-hanger ones - the enamel started flaking off where I bent them, but it worked pretty well.

Thanks folks, we have got loads of wire coat hangers so I guess Cosmo's mum wins!

Over here, Rahime, the coat hangers from the drycleaners tend to be bare wire, no enamel so perfect for impromptu sock blockers!

Yep, the hangers seem to be the easiest route to take for making your own sock blockers. Can't wait to see what you come up with!
